Milam Appraisal District will be closed Thursday, November 22nd & Friday, November 23rd in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our office will resume regular business hours on Monday, November 26th.
The Milam Appraisal District will be performing onsite property inspections for the 2019 appraisal year. Our appraisers will always be in a vehicle clearly marked, have business cards and a state issued license that can be shown upon request and never request access inside any building. Local law enforcement is aware of the specific appraisers in an area and the vehicles they drive. Please contact our office with any concerns or questions.
Per Property Tax Code, Sec. 6.06(a) “Each year the chief appraiser shall prepare a proposed budget for the operations of the district for the following tax year and shall submit copies to each taxing unit participating in the district and to the district board of directors before June 15th.” Property Tax Code, Sec. 6.06(b) states the Board of Directors shall hold a public hearing to consider the budget and approve a budget before September 15th.
The following is the District’s current adopted budget plus one year prior. Anything older may be requested by submitting a Public Information Request.
